The materials technology and recycling group Umicore officially opened on January 17th , 2017 its new production plant for emission control catalysts in Rayong, Thailand. The plant produces automotive catalysts for gasoline and diesel light duty vehicles, serving customers in Southeast Asia. The plant, which operates with a team of more than 50 employees, is situated in a special economic zone near Rayong, close to automotive plants in the country. It allows Umicore to meet the increasing demand for emission control catalysts in the fast growing market of Southeast Asia (AEC). Given their extensive presence in the regional market, Japanese automotive producers make up the majority of the plant’s business. These Japanese customers will be served by the Umicore Shokubai joint venture. Umicore’s catalysts enable improvements to air quality by transforming harmful vehicle emissions through sophisticated catalytic processes. Umicore is a pioneer in automotive catalyst technology and has been producing emission control catalysts for over 40 years. Its products have prevented hundreds of million tons of harmful pollutants from being emitted into the air.

Laboratory Supervisor responsible for leading technicians in product testing, evaluating test results, and ensuring quality standards are met.

หน้าที่รับผิดชอบ

• Support development project with other department
• Lead technicians performing a variety of product tests. Evaluates test results in relation to product specifications. Recommends rework, additional testing or other supplementary actions to determine product disposition.
• Evaluate production and product problems related to quality. Advises shift supervisors, production employees, and lab technicians on quality issues. Checks quality rejected material to identify quality problems.
• Staying up to date with relevant scientific developments that can improve the efficiency of lab operations
• Responsible for ensuring proper operation of all equipment and related software in laboratories, including qualification, validation, calibration and troubleshooting problems
• Implement and maintain procedure for Quality Management system and 5S activities

คุณสมบัติ

• Prepare samples;- ICP, Gravimetric, Cl, Solubility - weigh, digest & make-up sample- TGA – weigh sample- XRF/Sample Prep – crush, mill, blend powders; press pellets- Activity/BET/Adhesion - cut & age cores, powders or parts
• Measure samples; run samples on correct equipment using correct standards, calibrations and/or settings.
• Process data and evaluate suitability for release;- export/copy results to correct application (e.g. LIMS, Excel, PRS etc.)- check results vs applicable specification limits
• Approve/reject results prior to release;- disposition results according to whether they pass (release) or fail (reject)- inform production or other personnel as necessary- request production to submit new samples- follow correct procedure
• Open NCR's for failing results and request new samples for analysis- follow procedure
• To perform as the system requirement or the assignment of line manager in order to fulfill the requirement of all management system such as IATF16949, ISO14001 or other management system that will be applied in the future.
