About this position

The Construction Worker is responsible for all aspects of construction projects, from planning and preparation to completion. The Construction Worker will be reporting to the Construction Manager and is expected to work in a safe and efficient manner. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with other crew members.

Responsibilities

• Reading blueprints and other instructions to determine the materials and tools needed for the job.
• Assembling and setting up scaffolding, shoring, braces and other temporary structures.
• Mixing, pouring and spreading concrete, using hand tools and power tools.
• Constructing, erecting, installing and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, metal, drywall and other materials.
• Assembling and erecting prefabricated metal, wooden and other structures.
• Operating heavy machinery and equipment, such as bulldozers, cranes, and backhoes.
• Measuring, cutting, and shaping materials with power tools and hand tools.
• Inspecting and maintaining tools and equipment.
• Working with a team to complete construction projects on time and in compliance with safety regulations.
• Cleaning and preparing construction sites, unloading and transporting materials, and disposing of scrap materials.

Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry heavy items
• Experience with a variety of construction tools
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
• Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
