Regional Sourcing Manager - Fish and Seafood
About this position
The Regional Sourcing Manager - Fish and Seafood will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and developing sales activities to improve profits.
Responsibilities
• Be aware of the competition on the marketplace and detect the consumers' needs.
• Survey competitors regularly to analyze their items proposal, price, and quality standard.
• Multiply contacts with suppliers to stay updated with new trends, difficulties, and results.
• Participate actively in local commercial and social events to meet new suppliers.
• Visit local suppliers to observe their farm/factory/storage and evaluate their ability.
• Prepare negotiations efficiently by collecting internal and external data and keeping records of conversations with suppliers.
• Report on all information that would influence Fresh Food strategy.
• Develop and monitor sales activities and figure out methods to improve profits.
• Ensure relationships with other sections and departments related to the products' life cycle.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Agriculture, or related field with emphasis on agricultural production or a related science field.
• At least 2 years of related experience required, preferably in sourcing, product development, project management, retail buying, or retail field operations.
• Strong analytical ability and good with data/figures.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Maintain flexibility in a rapidly changing environment with an enthusiastic sense of mission.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally in support of merchandising global sourcing initiative.
