About this position

The Discipline Leader - Electrical Engineering will be responsible for setting design standards, monitoring project work, conducting design reviews, advising designers, leading key projects, maintaining technical libraries, conducting R&D, organizing education and training, and assisting in recruitment.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Director and other discipline leaders to set up design standards, master specification, and standards for document for the electrical department.
• Check and monitor project work for the electrical discipline to ensure quality and consistency across the electrical department.
• Conduct design review/peer review for electrical design at project milestones.
• Consult and advise designers on technical matters.
• Act as lead electrical designer on key projects.
• Maintain the technical E-Library and Catalogue E-Library for your discipline.
• Conduct R&D for continuous improvement using new design methods, tools, and technologies.
• Organise and monitor the education and training of electrical staff in the electrical department.
• Conduct monthly discipline meetings and record proceedings.
• Monitor performance and adequacy of each engineer for pay rise/promotion evaluation that is done jointly by Team Leader/Discipline Leader.
• Assist the recruitment of engineers for electrical discipline.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 12 years of working experience in designs in relation to building works.
• Solid Knowledge – Concept Design Electrical System, Communication system.
• Strong Engineering designs background in Electrical (Power Supply, Lighting, Lightening, Communication, Fire Alarm and Elevator Systems).
• Good knowledge of analysis and design with computer software such as BIM/Naviswork.
• Excellent communication, strong leadership, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
